The lowdown on Esteban Ocon
Esteban Ocon is another young gun on a mission in 2017.
After making his single seater debut in 2012, the French racer made his F1 debut in Friday practice for the then Lotus team in Abu Dhabi two years later.
That was also a year to remember for Ocon as he stylishly wrapped up the F1 Euro championship, beating future F1 race-winner Max Verstappen to the crown.
Ocon tucked away another trophy in his growing cabinet with the GP3 Series title in 2015 and took part in testing with Force India.
His F1 ambition became a reality in 2016 when he replaced Rio Haryanto at Manor from the Belgian Grand Prix onwards and earned himself a full-time drive with Force India in 2017.
With such a cracking pedigree, there’s every reason to think that the statuesque Ocon can deliver on his target of winning a point at every race in 2017 - and maybe more!
